I finally updated the memory in my desktop. The poor thing has been running on 2 512 sticks since 2003.  Now I’ve got a “whopping” 2GB.

The real reason behind the upgrade? The next Sims2 expansion pack is out soon and I’ve reached the point where my hardware just doesn’t cut it anymore for my simmish needs.

Hopefully soon I’ll upgrade the motherboard and processor (currently running an Anthlon 64 3200+) and then get rid of this POS All-In-Wonder 9800. *Hates on video card*

The really scary part is that my husbands fancy-pants Alienware compy (bought a year ago without my input) was ALSO running on 1GB DDR. WTF was he thinking? However, since he has extra slots, he inherited my old memory. Hasn’t blown up his computer yet *crosses fingers*.

…and I’m never doing it again.

It occurs to me that I never really actually blogged about my wedding. It’s been nearly a month now, so I guess it’s time to smother everyone with unnecessary details.

Just kidding! Everything pretty much went off as planned, so no worries there. We still haven’t gotten back our photographer’s work, so not many wedding photos yet, but you can see the honeymoon pictures (no, not that kind!) on my Flickr account.

Alright, so here’s the actual Tekkoshocon update.

Traffic on the way there was horrific. This was made worse by GoogleMaps sending us due west to go east. We never did find the imaginary road that we were supposed to take, and finally just gave up and took 395N like sane people would. Screw you, GoogleMaps.

We decided to make Tekkoshocon a one day con for us, since we don’t really end up going on Fridays or Sundays when we do have 3 days passes. I think it was a good decision on our part, although we did get a hotel room for Friday and Saturday night.

Tekko was fun for Maura and I, since we generally prefer trolling for costumes rather than running from event to event. Gerry, however, was not as enthused. The only event Maura and I went to was the Masquerade, which was amusing because we got to be first inline. Much bragged in Pictochat ensued.

Anyway, I now have two new costumes to abuse, which I will go into under the “cut”…

I finally got some shots of my favorite chair. We got it at IKEA, and it’s actually a single futon. But it’s soooo comfortable.

I just pulled the Box of Awesome out of my attic.

Why is it the Box of Awesome? It contained, in no particular order:

I have NO idea why all this was packed in the same box.
