General

Do I have to register?
You do not need to register unless you wish to post stories, read adult rated stories or use the favorite author/story features.

Why haven't I received my password?
Passwords should be received within an hour of registering. If you have not received a password, make sure you are set to receive e-mails from GMAIL, check your junkmail and then contact the staff.

How do I contact the authors?
You will find a contact form for an individual author on their bio page.

What do I do if I'm having a problem?
You can use the contact form to contact the administration.

Can I help?/Do you need staff?
Currently we are not looking for staff.

I followed a link and got "You are not authorized to access this function. By clicking past this warning you are affirming that you are above the age to view adult materials in your community" instead of the story.
This story requires a consent check and outside links are automatically blocked for the protection of minors. If you know the author's name, look in their profile, or use the search function to locate the story. This will allow you to access the consent check and view the story.

I checked the "consent" box when I registered, but I still get consent pop-ups!
This is a quirk of firefox/mozilla. Re-edit your profile, and then log-out and log-in again.

My LJ/Deviantart link is wrong!
You should enter ONLY user ID. The script will insert the rest of the URL for you.

Submitting A Story

How do I add a story?
Once you've registered click on the "Your Account" link and then "Add New Story".

How do I edit/delete a story?
Click on the "Your Account" link and then "Manage Stories".

How do I copy and paste with Firefox?
To use the WYSIWYG editor in Firefox, you must select copy and paste from the browser window or use the keyboard shortcuts.

My formatting is all wrong!
If you are copying from a Word document, then you must click the little clipboard with a "W". This will strip out all the redundant and erroneous HTML that Word likes to cram into unsuspecting paragraph tags. Do not uncheck the TinyMCE box unless you are comfortable with formatting your story with HTML. The text box does understand line break tags.

What kind of files can I upload?
You can upload plain .txt and .html files.
HTML should only include italics, bold and underline. For paragraphs use the paragraph not line break tags.
A plain .txt file will retain line breaks, but will not retain other formatting (like italics etc.)

Why does it keep saying I haven't filled out the form completely?
The most likely cause is not operating the Categories drop-down menu properly. Pick your first category, and then go back to the same drop-down menu and choose the correct sub-category. Then click "select".

Can I resubmit a rejected story?
Once the reasons for rejection have been fixed, feel free to resubmit a story.

Ratings

Everybody - Stories rated “Everybody” should be suitable for anyone with the ability to read, including young children. There should be no mature themes such as (but not limited to) — sexuality, extreme violence, sexual or child abuse, or torture. Language should be mild — no four letter words, etc. If it couldn't be shown on the Disney Channel it shouldn't be in an “Everybody” rated story.

Teens and Up - Stories rated “Teens and Up” should be suitable for anyone over the age of thirteen (13) or of relative maturity. These stories may contain mature themes, but should not contain graphic descriptions of them. Sexual scenes should “fade to black”. Language should be moderate - the major four letter words should be used only rarely (if ever). If you couldn't see it on a major American network show (Friends, Will and Grace, Buffy, etc.) then it doesn't belong in a “Teens and Up” story.

Adults Only - Anything goes in an “Adults Only” work, provided it is not one of the few forbidden themes outlined on the Submission Guidelines page. Descriptions can be as graphic as you like, language as extreme as you can make it.

Reviews

What are the stars I'm seeing?
The stars are our rating system. Stories are rated from 1-10 with 5 stars meaning a perfect 10.

What kind of reviews are unacceptable?
We do not allow author or story bashing or reviews with abusive language. Criticism is one thing, flaming is another.

What is the difference between con-crit and a flame?
Constructive Criticism is written with the intent to help the author improve. Con-Crit will point out good as well as bad points to the story. A flame is just written to insult the author and will be removed from the site.

How do I remove a review?
Authors may delete an anonymous flame from the review page. Logged-In reviews must be deleted by an admin.

Can I rate without reviewing?
Yes, but it is more helpful if you leave at least a quick review to explain your rating.
